Haven’t give these out in a while. But I think now 2017 is coming to an end and now since I’m now a graduate I thought it’s a good time to see where I am at. And since some people have been asking who I’ve been so far, well I’m obliged to answer.
I’m still the same ol’ Paul, haha. Still the same music freak, the same music aficionado. It has been quite a year I must say. Yes! I graduated from LASALLE with a Bachelor's Degree in Music.
Job searching in Singapore has been an absolute nightmare at least for me as some of you have been hearing from me face to face. Been sending out applications after applications with it ending up sticking into some unknown realm. For me it’s difficult because my currently only form of income is weddings which I will touch on a little later. I find it unbecoming of companies that I write to, not to return me the results of job applications even if I write to them directly. Even though I heard from somewhere or someplace that job applications will be easier to get, I still don’t see the effects of it.
Back to the weddings. As said earlier, till I’m able to at least find a stable income, I need to start increasing my rates for Church weddings from now and implement a few changes. And also partially the second reason is because as a professional and I never want to mess things up. A deposit or payment before any of such services requested for would also be nice. It pains me a little bit as many of you all know I’m a nice guy that has been giving my services all the time. But at this phase and situation there’s a need to differentiate between service and profession and I think most of you would agree with me.
But back to the good stuff, I’m still doing music pretty much actively. With 2 concerts coming up for the end of the year, one for Ping Yi Secondary School, and the other being Cor Novum, the passion of music is still burning in me. For the Cor Novum especially, we're promoting this event heavily because it is for a charity.
The Genesis II Project Choir: Cor Novum will be doing a concert again this year! Tickets at 22 a pop and proceeds will go to the GIFT Campaign of the Catholic Foundation to build the church of tomorrow.
